Robust frequency-shaped LQ control
نویسندگان
چکیده
Certain frequency-shaped standard linear quadratic (LQ) controllers involving state feedback have attractive loop robustness properties. These robustness properties may vanish in passing to an output feedback scheme, as when state estimates are used instead of states. The known exception to date is when the plants are minimum phase and state estimation with loop recovery is used, as in LQG/LTR designs. In this paper, generalized frequency-shaped LQ theory is developed for plants with matrix fraction descriptions. For the case of minimum phase plants, a spectral factorization based construction procedure is given which leads to stable output feedback controllers that are optimal in an LQ sense. Among the class of such optimal LQ controllers, these achieve the attractive loop robustness properties of standard LQ state feedback designs (and of LQG/LTR output feedback designs). Perhaps surprisingly the controllers can be expressed in terms of the solution of a transfer function matrix Riccati equation. The LQ/Riccati theory of the paper specializes to known theory in the case when the plant outputs are the states and the indices are not frequency shaped. an

Time Delay Control with Switching Action using Frequency-Shaped Integral Sliding Surface
Recently the Time Delay Control with Switching Action (TDCSA) method has been proposed as a promising technique in the robust control area, where the plant has unknown dynamics with parameter variations and substantial disturbances are present. When TDCSA is applied to nonlinear system having frequency resonances, TDCSA reveals chattering problem or undesired vibration. This undesired vibration...
متن کاملRobust Control Algorithms for Blood Glucose Control Using Mathematica
Application of modern robust control methods using Mathematica are presented in this case-study for blood glucose control of Type I diabetic patients under intensive care. The methods are applied on the minimal model of Bergman [1], using computer algebra. Two modern robust control methods are exemplified: the disturbance rejection LQ control or minimax control (as an extension of the classical...
متن کاملRobust Digital LQ Control of Time-delay Systems
Time-delays are mainly caused by the time required to transport mass, energy or information, but they can also be caused by processing time or accumulation. Typical examples of such processes are e.g. pumps, liquid storing tanks, distillation columns or some types of chemical reactors. This paper deals with a design of universal and robust digital control algorithms for control of great deal of...
متن کاملRobust control using linear quadratic method in hybrid-electromagnetic suspension system
Hybrid-electromagnetic suspension (EMS) system is type that vehicle levitates from guide-way. An advantage of this system is no energy consumption at nominal operating point which is maintains levitation using attraction force by permanent magnetic only. The EMS system is inherently unstable. It means active control needs to be incorporated for stable levitation. And it needs control method whi...
متن کاملChallenges in radiobiological modeling: can we decide between LQ and LQ-L models based on reviewed clinical NSCLC treatment outcome data?
AIM To study the dose-response of stage I non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in terms of long-term local tumor control (LC) after conventional and hypofractionated photon radiotherapy, modeled with the linear-quadratic (LQ) and linear-quadratic-linear (LQ-L) approaches and to estimate the clinical α/β ratio within the LQ frame. MATERIAL AND METHODS We identified studies of curative radiothera...
